COOLANGATTA 27th April, 2015: CHAMPION surfers Joel Parkinson and Laura Enever will mentor a new wave of Australian junior competitors on the northern NSW coast, with dual three-day Subway® Surf Camps to be run at Casuarina.  


Twenty six junior surfers, who won the Under 18 divisions during the Subway® Summer Surf Series held across Australia in summer, will enjoy an all-expenses paid training program at respective boys' and girls' camps at the Hurley Surfing Australia High Performance Centre (HPC).

The surfers at the boys' camp, which starts this Thursday (30th), includes;

The girls' camp which commences on Sunday 3rd May will include;

During each camp, the aspiring young athletes will be put through their paces with a combination of surfing and video analysis, competition strategies and strength and gymnastic training.  Adding to the high stakes is the Best Performing Award, with $1,000 from Subway to be given to the top male and female surfers respectively as chosen by Parkinson and Enever.

The Subway® Summer Surf Series, organised by Surfing Australia, was held across 13 events around Australia this past summer, showcasing the country's best male and female surfers in the under 16 and 18 age divisions and under 21 category.

The new series reinforces the Subway® brand’s commitment to healthy active living, and was created to fill a competition void which exists at a crucial point in the development of Australia's leading junior surfers.
