ExOfficio®, a leading designer and manufacturer of adventure travel apparel and gear, is expanding its spring 2016 Sol Cool™ collection by combining new technology with intelligent design features made for travel. The full collection for men and women is designed to protect the traveler from the sun and heat found in warm climates or high-energy adventure travel activities.

ExOfficio’s Sol Cool products provide fast relief from heat by cooling the skin temperature up to 5 degrees Fahrenheit, using two different cooling technologies. Lightweight, quick-drying, and odor-resistant, Sol Cool styles provide up to UPF 50 sun protection for well-rounded travel performance. The spring 2016 collection combines knit and woven pieces, offering the traveler more flexibility in assembling complete outfits to match their personal style.

Sol Cool Icefil® technology–used in knit fabrics–bonds Xylitol to knit fibers. Xylitol reacts with moisture to pull heat from the skin, reducing the skin’s surface temperature up to 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Sol Cool Icefil also helps keep skin dry through capillary action that quickly absorbs and disperses sweat.

Sol Cool Jade technology–used in woven fabrics–embeds jade dust into fabric fibers to slowly absorb and quickly release the body’s radiant heat, creating a cooling effect on skin of up to 4 degrees Fahrenheit. Because jade has a higher specific temperature than skin or textiles, it will always feel cooler to the touch, and is slower to heat up than ordinary cloth.
