BC3 graduates can transfer to PSU Commonwealth Campuses to earn a bachelor's degree October 8, 2015 (Butler, PA) Butler County Community College (BC3) signed an articulation agreement with Pennsylvania State University (PSU) yesterday to ensure the smooth transfer of BC3 graduates to bachelor's degree programs at any of the 14 PSU Commonwealth Campuses. Dr. Nick Neupauer, BC3 President, met with Dr. Kevin Snider, Chancellor, Penn State New Kensington, and Dr. Jo Anne Carrick, Director, Penn State Shenango to sign the agreement in the Steffler Board Room on BC3 Main Campus. Over 20 representatives from BC3 and various PSU Commonweath Campuses were also in attendance. PSU has 14 locations across the Commonwealth including: Beaver, DuBois, Fayette, Greater Allegheny, New Kensington, and Shenagno in western PA and Brandywine, Hazleton, Lehigh Valley, Mont Alto, Schuylkill, Wilkes-Barre, Worthington Scranton, and York in eastern PA. "I am always excited when we provide our wonderful students with new opportunities; however, I can say this particular agreement with several of the Commonwealth campuses of Penn State has personal meaning. I attended Penn State Beaver from 1985 to 1987 before transferring to University Park. That experience was a key reason why I even thought of advanced degrees and a career in education," said Neupauer. "Furthermore, some of my closest friends date back to my days at Penn State Beaver." The BC3 transfer programs and Penn State programs included in the agreement are: Chemistry, A.S. to Earth Science, B.S.; Criminology, A.A. to Administration of Justice, B.S.; Business Administration, A.S. to Business, B.S.; Communications, A.A. to Communications, B.A.; Computer Science, A.S. to Information, Sciences, and Technology, B.S.; English, A.A. to English, B.A.; General Studies, A.A. to Human Development and Family Studies, B.S.; General Studies, A.A. to Letters, Arts, and Sciences, B.A.; General Studies, A.A. to Organizational Leadership, B.S.; Nursing, R.N., A.A.S. to Nursing, R.N., B.S.; and Psychology, A.A. to both Psychology, B.A. and Psychology, B.S. Students who earn an associate degree from BC3 can apply to any PSU Commonwealth Campus and transfer all of the credits towards similar bachelor's degree programs offered at the Penn State location of their choice. Transfer application fees will be waived for BC3 students who meet PSU admissions requirements.

The articulation agreement is set to later be signed by Dr. Robert Pangborn, Vice President and Dean for Undergraduate Education, Penn State University; Dr. Madlyn Hanes, Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses and Dean of the University College, Penn State University; Dr. Donna Kuga, Interim Chancellor, Penn State Beaver; Dr. Melanie Hatch, Chancellor, Penn State DuBois; Dr. William C. Patrick, Chancellor, Penn State Fayette; and Dr. Nancy Herron, Interim Chancellor, Penn State Greater Allegheny.
