根据普华永道公布的2021年研究报告,受疫情影响的人们正在推动"消费行为发生历史性和戏剧性的转变"。这家咨询公司报告称,由于人们先是受到封锁限制,然后许多人继续在家工作,因此转向在线购物的趋势非常强烈。

该报告的另一个重要发现是,即使疫情结束,消费者也不太可能回到原来的购物方式。

2020年,南非的在线销售额增长了66%,超过18亿美元(300亿南非兰特)。这意味着零售商别无选择,只能重新构想商店的功能并利用数字工具吸引和留住"新常态客户"。
