今年的环太平洋大学联盟（Association of Pacific Rim Universities, APRU）校长年会于香港举行，迎来亚太区内、区外的大学校长和学术领袖参与，探讨未来可持续发展的创新方案

香港 - Media OutReach - 2023年6月25日 - 第27届校长年会由香港大学（港大）主办，于6月25日至27日举行，主题为 "From Invention to Implementation – Solutions for a Sustainable Future"（「从创新实践：可持续发展未来的解决方案」），来自51间大学逾140名嘉宾将出席，聚焦讨论应对可持续发展的创新思想和策略，包括实现碳中和目标，和绿色技术的发展和应用，透过个人、企业和政府的共同努力，将解决方案付诸实践，推动人类迈向可持续发展的未来。年会有多个专题讨论环节，探讨四个关键主题：
  • 我们的地球，我们的未来
  • 释放绿色技术推动未来发展
  • 教育新生代关顾地球的思维领导力
  • 以系统方式舒缓全球性的关连风险
当全球人口迈向80亿，我们正面临关键时刻 - 人类行为对地球自然系统所做成的损害，正处于无法逆转的临界点。我们面对的共同危机，包括贫穷、不公平、武装冲突和气候转变等，正危害所有的生灵。我们需要群策群力、运用创新思维寻找应对方案，才能保障未来可持续发展，让地球和人类都受惠，达至双赢。 港大校长张翔教授表示：「今次年会对港大至为重要。会议把来自多元化背景的大学领袖联合起来、引导大家朝向共同目标努力。我非常期待这次会议的讨论和知识交流，这将有助实现更可持续发展的未来。」 联盟主席、加州大学洛杉矶分校（UCLA）校长Gene D. Block教授表示：「这次会议为亚太地区高教界领袖提供一个重要平台，分享新思维，为区内面临最关键的挑战寻找应对方法，我深信每位参加者都会从讨论中获益。」APRU作为高等教育界领袖分享新思想和探索解决方案的平台，一直在应对亚太地区面对的迫切议题上发挥主要作用。 张翔教授和Gene D. Block教授将于6月26日（星期一）在港大举行的第27届校长年会开幕礼中致辞。联合国常务副秘书长、联合国可持续发展集团主席 Amina J.
