Trail reopens in time for National Bike to Work Day

Kent, Wash. (May 11, 2015) – As part of National Bike Month, Raleigh Bicycles and the city of Kent will celebrate the reopening of Green River Trail on Thursday, May 14 at 3:30pm in front of the Accell North America building, home to Raleigh Bicycles (6004 S 190th Street, Kent, WA).

The celebration will be held on the eve of National Bike to Work Day on May 15. Kent mayor Suzette Cooke, along with other city officials, will be attending the ceremony, where a banner in support of the trail will be hung from the Accell North America building.

The 19-mile trail is an essential part of the Kent community and is used for everything from commuting to work to recreational rides. The trail was closed due to flood-prevention construction on the Green River Levee.

The reopening is the perfect ending to what has been a month focused on cycling and the joy it brings to many every day. Raleigh’s 15 Days of Kindness campaign ends on May 15 with a “Go Green” day. On the morning of May 15, Bike to Work Day, Accell North America will be a support stop for commuters.
