Will Kick Off 2016 Season
The First 1,000 People in Line for the Anti-Bullying/Kindness Rally Will Receive Free Admission
(Las Vegas) – Wet‘n’Wild Las Vegas today announced its “Dive For A Change” Rally, a season kick-off event designed to help create a movement of kindness and anti-bullying amongst school-aged children. The rally will feature 11 local charities, speakers from Project 150 and The Center, live entertainment and a relay race where community children will help charities compete for a $1,000 prize.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 19 at Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas, located at 7055 S. Fort Apache Rd. The first 1,000 people to line up at the park gate and attend the rally will gain free entry to the park for the day. The event is geared towards children 17 and under, however parents and guardians are welcome. The park will open to the general public at 10:30 a.m.
“This anti-bullying/kindness rally is intended to spread awareness about how kids can get involved in their community, make a difference and combat bullying,” said Takuya Ohki, General Manager of Wet’n’Wild Las Vegas. “Our park is dedicated to creating opportunities for our community to learn and grow together, and our theme for this season is to stand up to bullying and be kind with your words and actions. We’re proud to host this wonderful event.”
Kids and parents will be invited to stop by one or all of the charity cabanas to learn more about how to get involved and sign “Kindness Pledge” promising to volunteer time and talents for a certain number of hours in 2016.
Non-profit participants include: Josh Stevens Foundation, The Shade Tree, The Salvation Army, Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation, Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, The Center, Nevada Donor Network, Communities in Schools, Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada, Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth and Project 150.
